Are You Experiencing PTSD?
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) does not result only from experiencing war and combat.
You may be also at risk of PTSD if you have experienced trauma in other forms. This includes: childhood abuse, domestic violence, other severe or prolonged abuse (whether verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual), experiencing crime, assault, or bullying, or surviving a disaster or personal tragedy.
While not everyone who goes through trauma ends up with PTSD, some people do experience lasting symptoms of trauma that interfere with their emotions and daily life.
When emotions such as stress, anger and fear persist long after the event, you may be unknowingly suffering from PTSD.
